May Asian Market was founded by Sai Lin, who is originally from Akron, Ohio. Sai and his family moved to the Parkersburg area, where they have since become a familiar part of the local food community by operating the sushi department at Sam’s Club.

What started as a passion for sharing authentic Asian cuisine grew into a desire to serve Parkersburg in a bigger way. May Asian Market was created to bring fresh, authentic Asian groceries and ingredients to a small-town community where access to these foods has often required long drives or limited choices.
